Mission

"The mission of the Mitchell High School English Department is to empower students with the critical literacy skills necessary to navigate a complex world. Through the rigorous study of diverse texts and the mastery of written and oral communication, we foster an environment where every student finds their voice, challenges their assumptions, and prepares for the demands of post-secondary life." "We envision a community of empathetic, lifelong learners who use the power of language to advocate for themselves and others. Our graduates will be discerning consumers of information and creative storytellers who understand that literature is a mirror to the soul and a window to the world."
